News - Games

Developer thatgamecompany, the team behind Flow, Flower, and Journey, have stated that it is currently looking for a publisher on its fourth game, which it hopes to announce soon.

In an interview with vg247, thatgamecompany co-founder Jenova Chen had said, "we’re negotiating with various partners, so maybe within the next month, we’ll be able to determine which is the [right deal]." At that point Chen said they would like to announce their next project adding, "we announced Flower half a year after we launched Flow. We announced Journey half a year after we launched Flower. So hopefully within this year, you’ll hear from us about our next game."

Sony and thatgamecompany had a three game exclusivity deal, so now that it has completed its contract with Sony, it's possible that the next game from thatgamcompany could be a multi-platform release.

From now until May 18, 100% of revenue from players purchasing the character Jax and his Jaximus armor in League of Legends will go towards the Make-A-Wish foundation.

League of Legends developer Riot Games recently worked with Make-A-Wish to bring Joe, who suffers from Ewing’s Sarcoma, a rare type of cancerous bone tumor, to come spend the day in its studio. Riot Games was so impressed with Joe and the work that the Make-a-Wish foundation does, that they decided to help out, and it wanted to get League of Legends fans involved.

Jax is Joe's favorite champion from the game, which is why he was chosen. You can find out more about Riot Games and its experience with Make-A-Wish (and purchase Jax), by clicking here.

See How Combat Works In Persona 4 Arena

Posted By: GameInformer

Sat May 5 2012 15:14:00 pm

It wasn't too long ago that we found out that Persona 4 Arena is making its way to the US, and now have our first glance at how the game plays.

This is the first of a few planned tutorial videos walking fighters though how to play the game, and it starts out pretty simple. Stick around though, because some of the more complicated features do get detailed, like the fact that you are essentially controlling two characters at once.

The PlayStation Network strategy RPG that has been in development for over two years is nearing release.

Outside of Fire Emblem, we don't see a lot of strategy RPGs these days, especially not on consoles, which is why this one might deserve a spot on your radar. Rainbow Moon doesn't have an exact release date, but developer SideQuest Studios wanted to let us know that the game has gone gold, and should be appearing on the PlayStation Network soon. Check out the trailer below.

Rumor: Obsidian's South Park RPG Has A New Name

Posted By: GameInformer

Sat May 5 2012 14:32:00 pm

If the game's page on Xbox.com is to be believed, the game is now called South Park: The Stick of Truth.

We haven't gotten an official announcement from Obsidian Entertainment, or the game's publisher THQ about a name change, but Microsoft's product page has a cover image with the new subtitle, so the new name definitely looks legitimate, at least.

We had the South Park game on our cover recently, and with it came a ton of additional coverage. Check it all out here.

Thanks to Daxter99 for the news tip!

The domain name AvengersBattleForEarth.com has been registered by Marvel and Ubisoft.

The name was registered the day before The Avengers film hit theatres, and could represent an upcoming announcement of an Avengers video game.

Until we find out more about what Battle For Earth is, you will have to stick to pinball to get your Avengers video game fix.

Replay: Treasures of the Deep

Posted By: GameInformer

Sat May 5 2012 10:00:00 am

Get ready to get wet. Treasures of the Deep is a 1997 release that allowed player to capture dolphins in nets and kill every marine animal known to man. Also, you can kill man. Why didn’t PETA ever sink their teeth into this game? Watch out for that shark!

Join Andrew Reiner, Jeff Cork, Ben Reeves, and Tim Turi as we explore the bottom of the seas, and discuss why James Bond never jumps. Then we play another game, but that’s not really important.
