News - Film
At least ten companies have been credited for contributing stunning visual effects to Marvel's The Avengers Super Hero team up of a lifetime. And among them is Legacy Effects, formerly Stan Winston Studios, who've partnered with Marvel Studios once again for Iron Man's third outing. And now that the film has been released, one of their digital sculptors, Josh Herman, has released some of his work via CGHub, including a Hulk maquette. CLICK IMAGES TO ENLARGE I got the chance to work on The Hulk maquette for The Avengers. I worked closely with Charlie Wen and Ryan Meinerding on this since they started the initial sculpts. I ended up fusing them together and adding some finishing touches to it. I got the chance to do the Iron Man mark vii model while working at Legacy FX. What an amazing experience and a great movie! By now I'm sure you know, The Avengers was great! You can read my glowing review by clicking, here. However, with the release comes the sobering fact that the long road to Earth's Mightiest Heroes assembling on the big screen is over. But before we move on, let's here from the cast one more time about the film and their experience, thanks to Buzzine. There's some interesting answers as well as some very funny banter between Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth. QUESTION: The Avengers deals with unifying some strong personalities. Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Iron Man, Hawkeye, and Black Widow are all used to working on their own, in entirely different circumstances. One could say the same for such a star-power ensemble cast. Were you afraid of egos clashing? Chris Hemsworth: Don’t look anyone in the eye, there were a few rules with Chris [Evans] especially. Chris Evans: That’s right, never

Harry Lennix Talks MAN OF STEEL

Posted By: Comic Book Movie

Sat May 5 2012 19:17:00 pm

Not much here really , but being starved of Supes news for a while now, anyone discussing next year's movie is of interest. All we know about Harry Lennix's character in Man Of Steel is that he plays General Swanwick. And for now that's all we're gonna know, because in an interview with Black Film Lennix doesn't go into any details on it. He does however, reveal that he has a "good role" in the movie and that he is a huge Supes fan, sounding very excited to be a part of Snyder's reboot.. Q: And I know you can’t say much on “Man of Steel” but how exciting was it to get that role? HL: Oh man! “Man of Steel” is going to be a very big deal when it comes out in Christmas of 2013. I was like a kid in a candy shop. Superman has always been my favorite superhero,

One of the weakest moments of Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes is the opening scene. The movie overall is wonderful, but the opening requires the viewer to believe that a state-of-the-art laboratory doesn't realize that one of their apes is pregnant. I realize that pregnancies aren't as noticeable on the bodies of female chimps like they are on female humans, but still nobody noticed. This was their star chimp, the best example of the trial drug having productive results. I'm sure she went through plenty of blood tests during her examinations and those would've revealed she was with child. In the theatrical version of the film "Bright Eyes" the ape refuses to leave her cage and attacks a technician Robert Franklin (Tyler Labine). She freaks out, runs all over the lab and crashes into the boardroom where she is shot dead. It turns out she was protecting her newborn child. In

As Marvel's The Avengers big screen assembly has gone on to become "one of the greatest superhero movies of all-time", predicted to have the biggest opening box office weekend ever, peculiarly there isn't a tie-in console video game coinciding with the film's release. Of course, there was a game in the making with THQ up until the Australian studio was closed down. But now a hint at another console game has shown itself via Fusible. "The Avengers video game looks to have a title — Avengers: Battle for Earth. On May 3, 2012, the domain name avengersbattleforearth.com (Whois) was registered through the brand protection company MarkMonitor. The name was registered by Marvel Characters, Inc. and is currently listed on Ubisoft’s nameservers: nic1.ubisoft.com and nic2.ubisoft.com." Marvel's vice president of games production alerted us that announcements would unveil in the coming weeks, two weeks ago. And he also said that the Marvel: Avengers

The film is based on Jonathan Tropper's upcoming novel about a midlife crisis that turns into the adventure of a lifetime. [...]

J.J. Abrams to produce One Last Thing Before I Go

J.J. Abrams will produce One Last Thing Before I Go for Paramount Pictures, based on the upcoming novel of the same name from author Jonathan Tropper.

Jonathan Tropper will adapt the screenplay himself. The story follows Silver, a man in midlife crisis whose ex-wife is marrying someone too nice to hate, and whose daughter is pregnant and on her way to Princeton. Silver tries to pull his broken family together only to discover that he could die at any moment because of his refusal to have an operation that could save his life.

Jonathan Tropper also has another book, titled This is Where I Leave You, set up at Warner Bros. with Adam Shankman directing, again from Tropper's own script. He is also the creator of the upcoming Cinemax series Banshee (which has nothing to do with the Marvel Mutant of the same name).

There is no production start date set for One Last Thing Before I Go, but the search for a director is underway. The book hits stores and online outlets this August.

One Last Thing Before I Go comes to theaters in 2014.
