Monster Rancher Anime Adaptation Now On Hulu

The animated series also ran in the US as a part of two major animation blocks, as the series was edited for content and dubbed for broadcast on the syndicated BKN and Fox Kids blocks over three seasons in the early 2000s. The series comprises a total of 73 episodes and Hulu currently has the first 12 English dubbed episodes posted.
The series also has a checkered home video history, as ADV Films previously released the complete first season on VHS and the first 12 episodes on DVD only to halt the releases after the series was pulled from TV broadcast. License holder BKN attempted home video again in 2005 and licensed the DVD rights to a Canadian firm that failed to complete the releases, as it only managed to release one barebones volume containing 5 episodes, then re-releasing the same first volume with 8 episodes before halting production entirely and going dormant as of 2008.
The series being posted on Hulu may also signal another home video release, as this long running thread on Anime News Network’s forum indicates that the series being posted on Hulu is the precursor to a brand-new home video release of the series, with the complete series including English and Japanese dubs as well as unedited footage for both versions.

Dragon Zord! Jason David Frank will morph at Otakon 2012
Posted By: Japanator
Wed Apr 25 2012 14:00:00 pm
Otakon better have their construction team ready, because the Green Ranger and the Dragon Zord are going to tear up Otakon this year. Super Sentai and Power Rangers may have their differences, but Sentai has never had a recurring character that has taken up multiple ranger forms -- Aka Red does not count.
Jason David Frank has crushed enemies with his dagger and Dragon Zord, wielded the tiger powers of the White Ranger, taken on the role of the Red Zeo Ranger, shifted into Turbo for half of the action, and utilized the destructive powers of the Black Dino Ranger. Lets face it, Tommy is one heck of a skilled ranger.
You better not mess with Jason in real life, because he is an MMA fighter that has been studying martial arts for 34 years -- impressive! On top of that, he is going to appear in an upcoming film called The One Warrior, which will be filled with fantasy fighting action.
You can find more information about his appearance below the jump!
Jason David Frank to appear at Otakon 2012
Baltimore, MD (April 25, 2012) – Jason David Frank to appear at Otakon 2012 Best known for his role as Tommy Oliver in the long-running TV show Power Rangers, Jason morphed into a series of different rangers over the years: Mighty Morphin Green and White, Red Zeo, Red Turbo, and then returned in 2004 as the Black Dino Thunder Ranger. All in all, ‘Tommy’ appeared in more episodes than any other character, 225 in total, and appeared in both full length movies, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers The Movie (1995) and Turbo (1997).
A highly accomplished and respected martial artist with 34 years experience, Kyoshi Frank currently holds a seventh degree black belt in American Karate and a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He is the owner/operator of Rising Sun Karate and MMA, with three schools in Texas and one in California. He is also the founder/CEO of Jesus Didn’t Tap, the first Christian-based line of MMA clothing and fight gear. Inducted into the World Karate Union Hall of Fame in 2003 as the American Karate Master of the Year, he is the founder of Toso Kune Do, his own style.
Beginning his full contact career in 2006, Jason won the prestigious “Ruff Man” Grand Champion title in Indiana and the gold medal in Master Toddy’s Full Contact Muay Thai competition in Las Vegas. In 2010, Kyoshi began his amateur Mixed Martial Arts career with a 4-0 record and then in August won his first pro bout.
Always an actor at heart, Jason has taken on several small and big screen roles with his most recent being The One Warrior—an action/fantasy film which also stars James Russo and Dominic Keating. In the story, the character of The One Warrior finds himself in a mythical world where he must destroy the Evil Lord Shoukata. However, first he must fight his way through many challenges that include dragons, the cursed swords of Damocles, the Samurai Six, the Amazon Warriors, and much, much more. The movie is scheduled for release very soon.
Otakon 2012 will be held July 27 – 29 at the Baltimore Convention Center in Baltimore, Maryland.
