Posted By: Graphicly
Fri May 4 2012 14:55:35 pm
In order to further celebrate STRANGER’s love for GRAPHICLY and FREE COMIC BOOK DAY, Stranger is offering another raffle in conjunction with one of its most celebrated titles –
THE PORTENT by Peter Bergting.
CONTEST:
Here it is, MAY 5, 2012 – Stranger has just released THE PORTENT’s final issue 4 of 4 and wanted to celebrate and cement their commitment to Graphicly and their awesome fans. Stranger Comics is creating another raffle for signed Portent goodies.
Tell us how much you like any issue of the Portent series by leaving a comment on the Graphicly site during the month of May and you will receive one entry into our raffle.
And, yes, that means you get one entry for each issue of The Portent you comment on. Start with the FREE Portent Issue 1
Tell us what you think of them all by commenting on the books and get four chances to win one of these signed prizes:
- 1 of 5 signed copies of THE PORTENT Graphic Novel by Peter Bergting
- 1 ORIGINAL SKETCH by Peter Bergting of Milo or Lin. Your choice!
But don’t just take our word for how amazing the Portent is. Just ask these good folks:
“It’s a rare treat when a creator comes along that can bring his vision to life in both visual and narrative form. Even rare if that creator is gifted in both arenas. Peter’s Portent is just such a treat.”
- BROM
“One of the best fantasy comics I’ve ever seen. Wonderfully atmospheric, beautiful and strange.”
- MIKE MIGNOLA (Hellboy)
“Peter’s one of my favorite working artists today. Fluid storytelling with an eye for acting and mood.”
- RICK REMENDER (Fear Agent, Punisher)

215 Ink To Sell Digital Comics. With A Tablet Thrown In.
Posted By: Bleeding Cool
Thu May 3 2012 17:00:04 pm
A while ago, when faced with a retailer telling me that Marvel were actively trying to recruit print customers to become digital customers. I joked that if Marvel were actually trying to do that, they'd be giving away tablets. At Baltimore Comic Con in September, 215 Ink will be selling an branded Android 4.0 tablet, fully loaded with the company's library of comics, for $99, all in.
With 63 titles currently in the library, with more on the way, that might work out at under $1.50 each.
With a free tablet.
However you look at it, this might be a way for all sorts of people to decide to try out digital comics...
A Quick Message from the Odinson
Posted By: My Comic Shop

Greetings from the Odinson,
This week the Odinson is on vacation, but I did want to leave this short message encouraging everybody to go see the Avengers Movie. This is the movie I’ve been waiting to see since I was 8 years old. My Top 5 all time favorite super heroes are Captain America, Thor, Superman, Rom and Nightwing and 2 out of that Top 5 are in this flick. And, it’s directed by Joss Whedon! This is the man that gave us Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, and Firefly. I have not been this excited about a movie’s premiere since the announcement of The Phantom Menace. Love it or hate it, the anticipation leading up to Menace was huge for Star Wars fans. With this cast, this writer/director, and the House of Ideas firmly in the driver seat, the Odinson knows the Avengers will be an all time great.
One last thing before I go: AVENGERS ASSEMBLE!
This is Odinson bidding thee farewell
